Symposium Details
The 2026 Western Canada Sexual Assault Investigators’ Symposium brings together law enforcement and crown prosecutor’s to collaborate in the fast-evolving world of sexual assault investigations.
Hosted by the Calgary Police Service Sexual Assault Investigative Unit, the symposium, themed “Modernizing Sexual Assault Investigations,” will bring together investigators and experts from across Canada to exchange insights through case studies, explore emerging investigative techniques, and address challenges and successes in sexual violence investigations. This three day event, hosted over four days, features over 14 presenters, with topics covering AI applications in sexual assault investigations, Digital forensics and emerging tools, Investigative Genetic Genealogy and Phased Interviewing.

Registration Opens on February 15, 2026.
Registration includes daily training seminars, breakfast on 3 days, lunch on 3 days, snacks and coffee, eligibility for daily door prizes, and admission to evening networking events.
- Early Bird Registration: $495 + GST (February 15, 2026 – May 31, 2026)
- Registration: $595 + GST (June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
Registration Closes on August 31, 2026 or until tickets sell out.
Accommodation and the symposium are located at the same address. SAIS attendees will receive a preferred rate of $165.00 + taxes.
The symposium will start at 7:00 am and finish around 4:00 pm each day, except for the last day which will end at 12:30 pm.
